Watching the videos in the YouTube section of the site has highlighted Brian as a driver who deserves his own thread.

Brian started in F1 in 1971 following a few years dabbling in the Juniors. He made an instant impact - winning his second ever F1 final and going straight from white to red. Brian was one of those drivers who never quite lived up to his promise in terms of championships, his best chance being the 1981 World Final where he fought his way up to a very impressive second...

A good old list to get the discussion going on here again

In this sport, it's easy to get carried away by the whole emotion of it - the lows are as much a part of it as the highs. What do you remember as the most disappointing moments for you in all your time following stock cars? And what about the spoilers and clowns too? I can...

Looking at my 1954 fixture list (which, being a stock car dinosaur, I always carry with me!) there are a large number of tracks which are largely forgotten about in stock car history. I've started looking into a few of these, but was wondering if anyone would be interested in working as part of a research team and writing to local papers, visiting libraries (if you live nearby) and anything else which might dig up some info?

The tracks I've identified are:
Liverpool...

Came across these photos, taken apparently as part of Tanya's sponsorship deal with the Picture Post - they are apparently taken at Neath Abbey.

Tanya was the daughter of a surgeon, but made her living by blowing up tree stumps (I want that job!!!). She was a huge attraction right from the first New Cross meeting in 1954, having responded to an advert placed in the London papers. Together with John Goody, she formed a partnership which was sponsored by Picture Post and they both...
